What is Grass Volleyball?
Grass volleyball is a variant of beach volleyball that has gained popularity across the country. Due to the popularity, AVP launched a AVP Grass Tour in 2021 with tournaments across the US for competition of various grass volleyball formats up to the professional-level. The grass volleyball format follows the beach volleyball format played in doubles with some slight variation.
Benefits of Grass Volleyball
Doubles grass volleyball requires players to have all the skills required to be a well-rounded volleyball player. With only 2 players on each team, it forces players to work on all aspects of the game from serving, passing, setting, attacking as well as increasing a player’s speed, agility, vision, and stamina. The goal of our program is to develop all skills related to volleyball for each player.
What to Bring to Practice
Since the court is grass, it is advised that athletes play in sneakers, preferably trail runners or turf shoes as the field will be slick at times.
Sunscreen, bug spray, plenty of water, sunglasses
Rain Out Policy
As always, we will do everything we can to avoid cancelling due to weather. However, some cancellations are unavoidable. Cancellations will be posted by 4:30pm. Make-up days will be rescheduled during the week.
